About Us

Sarah’s Shipshape Services is a marine electrical business delivering premium, ABYC-compliant solutions tailored to today’s boaters. We specialize in lithium battery systems, Victron Energy products, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and clean, thoughtful wiring that lasts. From high-level design to hands-on implementation, we focus on building systems you can depend on—whether you’re headed offshore or just want peace of mind at the dock.

Founded in 2022 by Sarah Scott, our business is growing fast—powered by a reputation for integrity, precision, and clear communication. Clients trust us not only for what we know, but for how we work: with care, intelligence, and attention to detail. Sarah brings a decade of marine experience, ABYC and Victron certifications, and a deep understanding of what boaters actually need. As a sailor and former marine hardware department manager, she knows this world inside and out—from the bilge to the backstay.

We’re not just another tech-for-hire shop. We’re building a new standard in marine service—one where clients feel empowered, respected, and informed. Sarah now works alongside Erinn, a junior technician being trained in the field under her guidance. When we show up, we show up as a team, combining experience and emerging skill to keep your vessel truly shipshape.

Our presence in the marine trades is still unusual—and that matters. In an industry dominated by men, we bring something different to the table: not just representation, but a commitment to doing excellent work, raising the bar, and modeling a more inclusive, sustainable future for this craft.

Our Ethos

We’re here to raise the bar—for marine electrical work, for tradespeople, and for what small businesses can look like in this industry.

We believe that high-quality work comes from people who are respected, trained, and supported. That’s why we invest not just in great tools and clean installs—but in our team. We pay well above industry standard, provide excellent health insurance, and offer semi-annual bonuses that reflect real appreciation—not just token thank-yous. We also build in structured training and mentorship during the off-season so our team can grow professionally even when project work slows down.

We believe in creating a workplace that honors the whole person—not just the hours on the clock.*

We also believe in transparency: about our pricing, our process, and how we do business. Our goal is to create systems our clients can trust, and a workplace that reflects the values we’d want to see more of in the trades.

We’re not trying to be the cheapest. We’re trying to be the best—and to do it in a way that’s sustainable, inclusive, and built to last.

* This year’s bonus: a two-week trip to Asia—booked entirely with credit card points earned from buying parts for client jobs. Zero business dollars spent, just a smart use of the system.

Meet the Team

At Sarah’s Shipshape Services, we’re a small, high-performing crew with a shared commitment to quality, clarity, and doing things right the first time. We’re hands-on professionals with deep technical knowledge and a genuine love for empowering boaters with safe, reliable electrical systems.

We believe that great marine service isn’t just about knowing your way around a breaker panel—it’s about communication, trust, and taking real pride in your work. Whether we’re troubleshooting an urgent power issue or designing a custom lithium system, we show up prepared, curious, and committed to leaving your boat better than we found it.

We don’t do cookie-cutter installs—and we don’t do sloppy work. We bring experience, certification, and care to everything we touch.

In addition to her fieldwork, Erinn brings creative and organizational skills to the business, contributing to video content, maintaining tools and inventory, and assisting with administrative needs. She’s a lifelong learner, a passionate sailor, and a key part of the shipshape crew’s day-to-day operations.
