Who we are
About Us
Sarah’s Shipshape Services, founded in July 2022, provides expert marine electrical solutions tailored to the needs of boaters. We specialize in Victron systems, lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs. With years of hands-on experience and ABYC certification, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality electrical work for every vessel.
Our business is Black woman-owned and operated, breaking barriers in the marine trades—an industry long dominated by men. While our story reflects diversity and determination, our focus is on exceptional service for all boaters who value skill, professionalism, and a passion for the craft.
Sarah, our founder, began wiring boats in 2015, starting with her own. As a sailor and boat owner, she gained expertise through extensive research, studying manuals, and consulting with experienced friends. Her practical knowledge and firsthand understanding of what boaters need at sea evolved into a professional passion for marine electrical systems.
Before founding Sarah’s Shipshape Services, Sarah spent seven years at a marine hardware store, where she managed the sailboat department, spliced rope, and served as assistant store manager. These experiences, combined with solo sailing 400 miles and publishing articles in 48 North and BoatUS Magazine, inspired her to take the leap into business ownership. Today, she brings that same drive and commitment to every project she takes on.
At Sarah’s Shipshape Services, we believe in empowering boaters with electrical systems they can depend on—whether you’re cruising offshore or enjoying time on the water locally. We take pride in offering high-quality, personalized solutions to keep your vessel shipshape.
